I'm sure everyone has noticed the lack of blogging going on recently. There are three reasons for this: #1. I'm still feeling blogged-out from my 100 post challenge. #2. Haven't had much to blog about. #3. Other stuff needs to come first.
Number three is by far the most important, and there have been times when I've made blogging a priority, when I shouldn't have. I'm going to take at least the rest of the year off to focus on real projects, and hopefully get to where I want to be.
I'll be back when I'm re-charged, and have got something to say. Until then, enjoy the hiatus.
*I'll still be picking a 100 Star comic each week on twitter, so make sure you're following me.

Read What I Read: Links
Here are the sites I'm currently following online, I'll give them a rating out of /5 based on how much I enjoy reading them:
Chris's Invincible Super-Blog -- Reviews, observations, etc. Good for the occasional laugh. 3/5
Dateline Silver Age -- Newspaper headlines from comics. 4/5
Mike Sterling's Progressive Ruin -- Very Similar content/format to the Super-blog. 3/5
Every Day is like Wednesday -- Reviews, etc. 3/5
Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources -- Comic News-- The problem with this RSS is that you tend to get a bunch of crappy updates along with the good ones, but the good outweighs the bad, and this is the best comic news RSS I've found. 4/5
SCREW Magazine Cover Art -- comic history-- One of the few sites I've found devoted to comix. Post are infrequent, but filthy and historical content is worth it. 3/5
Todd's Blog -- Todd Klein is a professional comic book letterer-- he does reviews, logo studies, and talks about lettering. His blog has a nice variety of content, and is update frequently. 4/5
Covered -- users send in their own "takes" of comic book covers-- just go look. 5/5
Kirby-Vision -- Jack Kirby inspired work. 4/5
Super I.T.C.H -- Comic book history at it's finest. Lots of links to online comics. 4/5
The Self-Absorbing Man -- Superstar artist Paolo Rivera being weird. 4/5.
Warren Ellis -- Warren Ellis being Warren Ellis. 5/5
Trend Land -- Design, fashion, art. One of my favourite sites. Updates are frequent with interesting posts. 5/5
Uninflected Images Juxtaposed -- Screenwriter, etc. blog
John August --Screenwriter blog. 4/5
I find your lack of faith disturbing -- Screenwriter blog. Infrequent. 4/5.

Okay, that's about it. I also regularly visit a few other sites where I don't follow the RSS feed, but if you think I'm missing anything good, send me a link.
Also--if you're not using google reader --you should. It makes following sites so much easier, especially if the site updates infrequently, and you tend to forget about it's existence.
Finally.... join twitter. Don't be a cranky poo-poo pants baby. Do it. Follow me here

100 Star Comics!

Deadpool

Crazy cross-country motorcycle race!

I need an ongoing Shang-Chi series. I need it in black & white. And most importantly I need it to be written by Jonathan Hickman.

Ultimate Avengers Rules. Two issues and tons has happened. OH MY GOD CAPTAIN AMERICA HAS A KID AND HE'S CRAAAAAZY. CRAZY ABOUT AMERICA! No wait, sorry, that's a typo, he's just crazy. Apparently Ultimate Red Skull is Cap's kid. Yeah. Okay. Thanks for making the first two issues so great I have to waste much more money on this quality book.

Ages 9 and up+
Marvel Comics recently released The Moon Knight Saga. It's free comic that tells a condensed history of the character. After reading it I realized that there was nothing wrong with it at all.
Nothing wrong with the cover.
It's rated "A", nothing wrong with that. Just means that according to Marvel's rating system it's: Appropriate for ages 9 and up. Sounds good to me. Party on.
I'll just keep reading. Yup, as I suspected, everything checks out:
Nothing wrong at all.
Looking good Moon Knight. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to the school yard to share the Saga of The Moon Knight with a bunch of 9 year old--they'll enjoy that, right?
Labels: Marvel, Moon Knight, Rated A

100 Star comics
Last week just about every good comic came out. I tried to pick a "best", but there was just too much to choose from. So, rather than choose the obvious, such as Batman & Robin or Detective Comic, this week's 100 Star comic is:

I chose this not because it was the best of the week, but because I was surprised with it's potential. I doubted whether or not I'd stick with this book once Mark Millar finished his run. I'm not the biggest FF fan, and it feels like 90% of the stories told are just lame, but Hickman has set-up what could be a very interesting and fresh story.

I'm a huge fan of the Millar/Hitch run that just finished (it blew my cock off), and Hickman & Eaglesham have very big shoes to fill. I'm excited to see whether or not Hickman can really live up to the hype he's been receiving.
